Sourcing with purpose

Did you know, some of the world’s most powerful flavours never made it onto the spice route. 🫚🐪🌶️

At Andean Origins, we don’t just source products, we seek stories that reflect who we are and why we exist. When we discovered Fedusal21 and Etnia, we knew immediately that their values mirrored our own: respect for tradition, integrity of origin, and a belief that food can create meaningful impact.

While the ancient Spice Trail introduced the world to many incredible flavours, a few remarkable South American treasures never quite made the journey. We think they deserve their turn, so we're setting out to start a new spice trail, one that brings authentic flavours, honest producers, and forgotten ingredients from the Andes to kitchens everywhere.

Fedusal21 began not as a commercial venture, but as a family’s act of love. Founded to support their son, the business grew with a powerful purpose at its heart—creating opportunity, dignity, and inclusion through honest work. What started with artisanal salt became a symbol of resilience, care, and community. Dedicated to preserving traditional methods, the family takes great pride in ensuring every product is pure, authentic, and true to its origins. Every crystal carries not just flavour, but a reminder that food can do good beyond the plate.

Etnia Chile represents another pillar of our philosophy: preserving ancestral knowledge while elevating Indigenous ingredients with respect and authenticity. Founded in 2004, the brand was created to give true value to Chile’s most iconic spices, working hand in hand with local communities through fair trade practices. Their Merkén honours Mapuche traditions passed down through generations—smoked, sun-dried, and handcrafted using time-honoured methods that prioritise integrity over shortcuts.

Together, Fedusal21 and Etnia Chile embody what Andean Origins stands for: products with soul, provenance, and purpose. These are not just ingredients—they are living stories of family, culture, and perseverance. By sharing them with the world, we honour the people behind them and invite you to taste something far deeper than flavour.
