• Rica-Rica (very loosely translated into Yummy-Yummy 😋) is the leaf of a shrub of the same name that grows in the Andean highlands. It is produced by Atacameño and Aymara communities under fair trade principles.

    It belongs to the verbena family and grows to 50 cm tall with violet flowers appearing in October.

In savory dishes, it is ideal with chicken, fish, lamb, salads, seafood, and pasta. In sweet dishes, it pairs beautifully with brownies and chocolate, but its true expression is found in Pisco Sour 🍸, where it is most famous.

  • Merkén is more than a spice — it is the spirit of Chile captured in smoke and flame. Rooted in the ancestral traditions of the Mapuche people, it begins with carefully stemmed and dried Goat Horn (cacho de cabra) chillies that are slowly smoked, toasted, and ground.

  • Celebrated for its authenticity and craftsmanship, Chilean merkén was named the world’s best condiment of 2024 by TasteAtlas, earning an outstanding 4.6-star rating.
